Allianz announced further changes to its Board of Management

Following its strategic succession planning discussions, the Supervisory Board of German insurer Allianz SE announced changes/decisions to its Board of Management.

Thus, Sirma BOSHNAKOVA currently the Chief Executive Officer of Allianz Partners, has been appointed as Member of the Board of Management, effective January 1, 2022, pending customary regulatory approvals. Sirma BOSHNAKOVA is slated to succeed Sergio BALBINOT after his term expires on December 31, 2022. To ensure a seamless transition, she will work closely with Sergio BALBINOT and assume portfolio responsibilities from him in the course of 2022, allowing Sergio BALBINOT to focus even more on the strategic priorities in the Asia Pacific region in light of the growth potential and importance of that geography for Allianz.

At the same time, the Supervisory Board expressed its intention to formally extend the contracts of Board of Management members Renate WAGNER and Klaus-PETER ROHLER at its upcoming February 2022 meeting.

Andreas WIMMER, currently the Chief Executive Officer of Allianz Lebensversicherungs-AG, has been appointed as Member of the Board of Management with responsibility for the asset management division and Allianz Life in the U.S. In addition to his new responsibilities, WIMMER will continue to serve as chief executive officer of Allianz Leben through December 31, 2021. As previously announced, Andreas WIMMER will replace Jacqueline HUNT who wishes to step back from her day-to-day responsibilities as Member of the Board of Management and has been appointed a strategic consultant to Oliver BATE, Group Chief Executive. At the same time, Katja de la Vina, currently the chief financial officer of Allianz Deutschland AG, will become the chief executive officer of Allianz Lebensversicherungs-AG effective January 1, 2022.
