10 March 2025 — Marina MAGNAVAL
Allianz announced in its press release that it is the first insurer to earn the Europrivacy certification, recognized EU-wide under GDPR. Covering key processes in Austria, Italy, and global recruitment, it underscores Allianz's commitment to exceptional privacy standards.

The Europrivacy certification, currently the only certification recognized by all EU member states for the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), has gone to Allianz in seven categories for its “Targets of Evaluation” in scope, focusing on key processes across its operations:

  • Three processes in Allianz Austria: Property & Casualty and Health retail products, Life retail products, and its Home insurance online journey.
  • Three processes in Allianz Italy: Underwriting and Sales, Claims, and the Business Intelligence platform.
  • Allianz’s Global Online Recruitment process.
It is noted that the certification represents a key differentiator for Allianz, reinforcing the trust of customers, investors, business partners, employees and supervisory authorities. In an era where data breaches and privacy concerns command huge public attention, this certification signals Allianz's commitment to rising to this challenge and protecting personal data at every level. Allianz is not just meeting minimum requirements but exceeding them, setting a benchmark for excellence in privacy.

"While we at Allianz are immensely proud of this recognition, I see this as an achievement first and foremost for our customers. Allianz will continue to seek further certifications and set new standards in data protection to further build their trust and provide them with a clear choice of partners to secure their future", commented Barbara Karuth-Zelle, Member of the Board of Management of Allianz SE and Group COO.
