BELARUS' major companies urged to list on international stock exchange

We need to look into the possibility of floating the shares of Belarus' major companies on the world stock exchanges, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said during his annual address to the Belarusian people and the National Assembly on 29 April, BelTA has learned.

"We should use every segment of the financial market, i.e. the insurance sector, the securities market, investment funds, micro financial and leasing organizations, the OTC market Forex and so on. The state should control the segment, and the National Bank should be its chief regulator. We should get integrated into the global financial market. Companies and banks should make their way to international financial markets and attract resources for development. We should also consider the possibility of floating the shares of the country's major companies on the world exchanges," the head of state said.
