The parliamentarians face the task of forming a single insurance market of the Union State, the Deputy Chairman of the Commission on Legislation and Regulations of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia, Chairman of the Standing Commission on Legislation and State Building of the Council of the Republic, Sergei Sivets said, BELTA reports.

On February 15, a meeting of the Commission of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia on Legislation and Regulations was held in Minsk, where comments and proposals on the draft model legislative act "On the system of compulsory insurance of civil liability of vehicle owners in the Union State" were discussed. It was decided to approve the draft, taking into account all comments and suggestions received by the deputies. After consideration of the draft model legislative act by the council members, it is planned to send it for approval by the Parliamentary Assembly.

"All the activities of the Parliamentary Assembly are aimed at laying a solid legal foundation for those social and economic projects that are currently being implemented in the format of the Union State. Of course, for now we took just a small segment, but one way or another affecting the majority of citizens of the Union State, insurance of civil liability of vehicle owners, yet in general the goal is way more global - formation of a single insurance market of the Union State", Sergei Sivets emphasized.
