This year's conference focused on current global challenges facing the insurance industry and was split into two thematic blocks. The first block was dedicated to geopolitical developments and their impact on the global economic environment, with special emphasis on the implications for the insurance sector. The second part of the conference focused on challenges of longevity, analyzing the impact of increasing life expectancy on life, pension and health insurance.
The Director of the Insurance Supervisory Agency of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ivan Luburić, participated in a panel discussion moderated by Professor Em. Karel van Hulle, which was also attended by Maja Krumberger, MSc (Slovenian Association of Insurers), Hendrickx Dieter (National Bank of Belgium) and Gregor Pilgram (Generali Versicherung, Austria). The panelists discussed how the European insurance market is adapting to the era of climate change, demands of digital transformation and opportunities brought by artificial intelligence in the context of regulatory changes that affect future development of the industry. The Director of the Supervisory Agency pointed out the importance and obligation of supervisors in regulating and monitoring the use of artificial intelligence in insurance.
This conference once again confirmed importance of international cooperation in addressing the challenges shaping the future of the insurance industry, and the role of regulatory authorities in preserving market stability and development.
