Bosnia and Herzegovina: the insurance market rises by 3.6% y-o-y in January-February

The insurance companies operating in Bosnia’s Federation generated total GWP of BAM 122.4 million (EUR 62.6 million) in January-February 2025, up 3.6% y-o-y, SeeNews writes with reference to the Insurance supervision agency.

Non-life insurance increased by 3.2% to BAM 99.1 million in the first two months of 2025, while life insurance rose by 5% to BAM 23.3 million, according to the insurance regulator.

Among insurance companies, ASA Central recorded the highest GWP in the Federation during the period under review, of BAM 21.3 million (+17.1% y-o-y), followed by Adriatic with BAM 18.4 million, and Euroherc with BAM 15 million. At the same time, Sarajevo Osiguranje, which was the third largest insurer in the Federation in January, fell to 6th place in the ranking for the January-February period as its GWP decreased by 6.6%, to BAM 12.9 million.

The regulator's report comprises data on 19 insurance companies, 10 of which are Federation-based. The remaining 9 are based in Bosnia's Serb Republic.
