Of that total amount, EUR 268.0 million (15.6%) came from life insurance, which is 1.3% less than in the same period last year, and EUR 1.5 billion, or 84.4%, - from non-life insurance, which is 9.8% more y-o-y.
In the structure of non-life insurance, the largest class is motor vehicle liability insurance (35.4%), followed by road vehicle insurance (19.6%), fire and natural disaster insurance (9.4%) and health insurance (8.6%).
Total paid claims in the first 10 months of 2025 amounted to EUR 990.8 million, which is 4.8% less y-o-y. Of this amount, in life insurance insurers paid EUR 297.6 million (30.0%), or 19.1% less on an annual basis, while in non-life insurance payments reached EUR 693.1 million (70.0%), which is 3.1% more y-o-y. In the total amount of non-life paid claims, the largest amounts relate to motor vehicle liability insurance (40.4%), road vehicle insurance (21.8%), health insurance (12.1%) and fire and natural disaster insurance (8.2%).
At the end of October 2025, 14 insurance companies operated on the market. The leading company in terms of GWP is Croatia osiguranje with a 26.39% market share, followed by Euroherc with 12.97%, Adriatic with 12.56%, Allianz with 10.83%, and Wiener osiguranje VIG with 8.01%.
