The non-life segment is dominated by motor vehicle liability insurance (36.4%), followed by insurance of motor vehicles (18.8%) and fire and natural disasters insurance (9.3%).
Total paid claims in 10M2024 reached EUR 1.0 billion. Of that amount, the insurers paid EUR 368.0 million in life insurance (35.4%), and EUR 672.1 million – in non-life insurance (64.6%). In non-life insurance, the largest amounts were paid for motor vehicle liability insurance (39.7%), insurance of motor vehicles (21.8%), other property insurance (9.4%) and fire and natural disasters insurance (9.0%).
As of October 2024, 14 insurance companies were operating on the local market. The leading company on the Croatian market is Croatia osiguranje with a 25.74% market share, followed by Euroherc osiguranje (12.77%), Adriatic osiguranje (12.55%), Allianz Hrvatska (11.34%) and Wiener osiguranje Vienna Insurance Group (7.60%).
