ESTONIA: LKF: nearly 21,000 motorcycles and mopeds have been insured to date

According to the Estonian Traffic Insurance Fund (LKF), as of now nearly 21,000 motorcycles and mopeds have been insured, while last year there were 3,000 less, the Association of Estonian Insurance Companies (EKsL) wrote.

According to LKF board member Lauri Potsepa, the average annual premium for motorcycle and moped traffic insurance concluded this year is EUR 61 (vs EUR 53 last year).

In 2022, 191 road accidents were caused by motorcycles and mopeds, with an average loss of EUR 2,800 and a total loss of EUR 535,000.

According to Kaido Naarits, head of ERGO's vehicle insurance portfolio, "ERGO's average motorcycle insurance loss is EUR 5,147, while the biggest loss last year was EUR 9,000", said Naarits.
