Hungarian unit of Aegon announced it has paid more than HUF 700 million (~EUR 2 million) for life and accidents coverages since the beginning of the Coronavirus pandemic, wrote portfolio.hu here.

Thus, the Hungarian insurer said it reimbursed about 1,600 claim files, of which, unfortunately 1,003 deaths: "most of the paid amount is for deaths due to COVID. The remaining amount was paid by Aegon after hospital care and sick leave".

The reinsurer mentioned that as a consequence of the pandemic, the terms of insurance policies have changed significantly in some areas, in favor of clients. For example, the waiting time that must elapse after taking out an insurance policy for the sum insured to be paid if the insured dies, was reduced to 30 days from 6 months under certain conditions.
