By the end of October 2021, Hungarian insurers reported outstanding claims (payments and reserves, summed-up) on agricultural insurance segment worth HUF 10 billion (~EUR 28 million), MABISZ (Hungarian Insurers Association) informed in a statement.

"By the end of October this year, more than seven thousand claim files related to insurance of agricultural crops were opened by insurers, amounting about HUF 10 billion", as MABIS representatives mentioned in a press release.

Of this total, most of claims (HUF 8 billion) are related to claim files opened as a result of hail, while about HUF 800 million - drought, and HUF 400 million - spring frost.

Among the insured crops, rapeseed, corn, sunflower, cereals, fruits and vegetables suffered the most because of the bad weather.
