KAZAKHSTAN: assets of TOP-3 at the end of March amounted to almost half of the market assets

As of the end of March 2019, asset growth of Kazakh insurance companies reached 16.9% y-o-y, according to Allinsurance.kz.

At the end of the first quarter, the total number of participants on the insurance market was 27, and 6 of those companies operating in the non-life sector recorded a decrease in assets.

The leader in terms of assets is EURASIA, which increased assets by 15.1% y-o-y, to KZT 270.2 billion (~EUR 0.63 billion), followed by subsidiary insurers of Halyk Bank: Halyk-Life (KZT 144.3 billion or EUR 0.33 billion) and Halyk (KZT 130.9 billion or EUR 0.3 billion). In total, assets of the TOP-3 insurers made up almost half of the insurance assets (49.3%). Fourth and fifth places were taken by NOMAD Life and VICTORY.
