Total paid claims under contracts with individuals (including CTI) for January-October of this year amounted to KZT 132.2 billion (~EUR 0.25 billion), which is 41.6% more y-o-y, while the number of insurance claims decreased by 2.5%. It is noteworthy that the amount of paid claims for 10 months of 2024 is 12.8% more than for the whole year of 2023, while their number is 20.7% less.
From January to October, the largest amount of claims was paid in July (KZT 22 billion), while the largest number of insurance cases was recorded in January and February (16.6 thousand and 16.4 thousand, respectively). At the same time, the average monthly amount of payments in 2024 reached KZT 13.2 billion (vs KZT 9.8 billion in 2023).
The number of life insurance contracts for January-October 2024 exceeded 3 million. Most life insurance contracts were issued in July (329.5 thousand units). The largest average monthly payment this year was in August: KZT 1.6 million (vs KZT 2.2 million in 2023).
The number of accident insurance contracts for January-October of this year amounted to 7.7 million units. While about 4 million contracts were concluded for the whole year of 2023. The largest number of accident insurance contracts this year was issued in October: 1 million. The largest average monthly payment in 2024 was recorded in May: KZT 202.4 thousand, while in 2023, the largest average monthly payment was in June: KZT 207.5 thousand.
The number of health insurance contracts for the period amounted to 1.3 million units. Whereas for the whole year of 2023, 910.9 thousand contracts were concluded. The largest number of health insurance contracts this year was issued in May: 166.9 thousand units. The largest average monthly insurance payment was recorded in May as well: KZT 77.7 thousand, while in 2023 the largest average monthly insurance payment was in December: KZT 62.2 thousand.
The number of voluntary motor insurance contracts for January-October of this year amounted to 306 thousand. Whereas 369.7 thousand contracts were concluded for the whole year of 2023. The largest average monthly insurance payment in 2024 was in February: KZT 1.2 million, while in 2023 the largest average monthly payment was recorded in December: KZT 1.3 million.
The number of voluntary property damage insurance contracts for January-October 2024 amounted to 186 thousand (301.4 thousand contracts were concluded for the whole year of 2023). The largest average monthly insurance payment this year was made in July: KZT 4.8 million, while in 2023 the largest average monthly payment was recorded in June: KZT 4.5 million.
Almost 5 million contracts for compulsory civil liability insurance of vehicle owners were issued in January-October of this year. The largest number of contracts was issued in July: 570.5 thousand units. In 10M2024, 67.1 thousand insurance cases under compulsory civil liability insurance were settled. At the same time, for the whole year of 2023, the number of settled cases under compulsory civil liability insurance reached 90.1 thousand.
The number of compulsory travel insurance contracts for the period amounted to 1.2 million units. Whereas about the same number of contracts was concluded for the whole year of 2023 (1.2 million). Most contracts this year were issued in the summer months - July and June: 188 thousand and 183.4 thousand contracts, respectively. The largest average monthly insurance payment for CTI this year was made in September: KZT 274.6 thousand. In 2023, the largest average monthly payment was also recorded in September: KZT 135.6 thousand, the study says.
