On June 19, at the Latvian Insurers Association (LAA) members' meeting its current head Jānis Abāšins was reelected as the organization's president for the next three-year term.

"I am pleased with the trust shown by insurers in approving my mandate for the next term. The main areas that we will continue to work on include improvement of customer understanding and financial skills, insurability issues, namely, the extent to which people and property can be insured. We will also build closer cooperation with policymakers, the regulator and promote better data exchange with state, local government and private institutions", the LAA president said.

It is noted that Jānis Abāšins has been the head of the LAA since 2013.
