Lithuanians’ awareness of the importance of home insurance is increasing after major disasters. The head of Gjensidige's claims department for the Baltic countries, Viktorija Katiliene noticed that after every major incident, the interest in home insurance increases significantly, which indicates a change in the public's attitude from "don't care" to "necessary", draudimas.lt wrote.

The events of recent years in Lithuania have highlighted importance of home insurance. Research shows that in the past, over a quarter of the country's population did not take any home security measures, but now this number has halved.

NielsenIQ data reveals that home insurance has become the most popular means of protection among Lithuanian residents, and over a half of the country's homeowners have purchased insurance in recent years.

The increase in natural disasters has shown relevance and necessity of home insurance. Viktorija Katiliene emphasized that last year's storms and rains caused record damage, and insurance payouts reached extremely high numbers.
