Michał Piotrowiak appointed new Director of Strategy and Projects for PZU

21 August 2025 —

Starting in August 2025, Michał Piotrowiak will assume the role of Director of Strategy and Projects at PZU. Piotrowiak, who has previously built much of his career at Poland’s largest insurer, announced the move on LinkedIn.

He described this career change as “a unique opportunity to co-create long-term development directions for one of the largest financial institutions in Central and Eastern Europe.”

Piotrowiak has been connected to the PZU Group for nearly eight years. Between June 2014 and August 2020, he held various positions within the insurer’s Project and Strategy Office, where he co-authored four corporate strategies, co-managed a portfolio of strategic projects, and worked closely with senior management. His responsibilities also included evaluating the strategic fit and investment potential of a number of innovative companies.

From September 2020 to February 2022, he served as Director of Strategy and Business Development at PZU Zdrowie. In this role, he designed a comprehensive business strategy that drove revenue growth, defined the project portfolio, and set key performance indicators (KPIs). He also spearheaded the development and implementation of a business continuity plan during the Covid-19 pandemic.

After leaving PZU, Piotrowiak joined EY-Parthenon, where he worked for more than three years before returning now to the insurer to take up his new position.
