GENERAL Asigurari is the most recent player to enter the re/insurance market in Moldova. The Board of Directors of the National Commission of Financial Market has issued the prior approval of registration in this regard, according to official anouncement made by local supervisory authority.

At the same time, the company has followed the registration procedure and received aproval for the company's founder in order to obtain a substantial share in the social capital of the insurer, etc.

In the first half of 2016, there were 15 active companies on the Moldavian insurance market. In the reporting period, total GWP reached MDL 628 million (EUR 28.2 million), up by 9.5%.
