In July, insurers who have additional (private) health insurance paid MKD 61.9 million (over EUR 1 million) for medical expenses covered by their health insurance policies.
These figures represent data of nine non-life insurance companies, which covered over 6,500 claims of insured persons (medical expenses), according to the data submitted to the ISA by all 11 insurance companies.
In total, in July, all non-life insurance companies paid almost MKD 409 million (~EUR 6.65 million) for damages covered by insurance contracts. The amount increased by 26% y-o-y, while the number of claims paid increased by 19.5%. In July, a total of 10,848 claims were paid for damages covered by non-life insurance.
In July for insured property the companies paid damages worth MKD 25.1 million (EUR 0.40 million). As expected, in the structure of paid damages the largest share belongs to compulsory motor liability insurance, for which insurers paid MKD 234.9 million (EUR 3.82 million) to 2,251 policyholders. This includes MKD 133.9 million (EUR 2.18 million) paid for damages caused in the country, while for damages caused abroad, covered by Green Card policies, MKD 98.2 million (EUR 1.6 million) were paid in July.
