STATISTICS: FY2015: Turkish insurers maintained the SEE market on the rise

Last year, the SEE insurance market (inclusing Cyprus, Greece and Turkey) totaled about EUR 14.04 billion in GWP, 2.44% more y-o-y, according to preliminary figures centralized by xprimm.com. Of this figure, about 70% was generated by Turkish insurers, more than a quarter by Greek insurers, while the remaining five percentage points by the Cypriot market.

MUNICH Re to pay out over EUR 1.3 billion to shareholders and expects EUR 2.3-2.8 billion profit for 2016

MUNICH Re will pay a significantly increased dividend of EUR 8.25 per share for the financial year 2015, making a total payout of over EUR 1.3 billion to its shareholders. "Last year, MUNICH Re achieved a profit of EUR 3.1 billion despite the difficult environment. This is the fourth year in succession that we have generated a profit of over EUR 3 billion. That is a good result," stated CEO Nikolaus von BOMHARD.

SCOR, Q1: Net income falls slightly to EUR 170 million

The Paris-based reinsurer SCOR reported a 2.9% y-o-y decrease in its Q1 net income to EUR 170 million, while the value of gross written premiums was up by 5.1% y-o-y to EUR 3.28 billion.

Remi VRIGNAUD, CEO of ALLIANZ TIRIAC Asigurari, the Romanian market's leader, will join the Allianz Group's top management, as head of CEO Oliver BATE's chancellery, according to an official announcement of the company. Virgil SONCUTEAN, the company's Chief Sales Officer and deputy general manager, will take over the CEO position starting September 1st.

Last year there were positive dynamics in the development of BELARUS Re. Thus, in 2015 the total volume of reinsurance premiums reached BYR 488.0 billion, up by 44.6% in the current prices compared to 2014. There has been a significant growth and financial performance. Thus, the net profit of BELARUS Re has grown by 43.2% over the year 2015 and insurance reserves were increased by one-third.
