STATISTICS: Czech Insurance Association: Insurance market growing thanks to MOD insurance

At the end of March 2016, the Czech Republic insurance market totaled CZK 31.12 billion (about EUR 1.15 billion), 1.27% more y-o-y, according to the results of the members of the Czech Insurance Association (CAP). The most dynamic sector in non-life insurance is collision insurance. Collision insurance ( MOD insurance) strengthened year-on-year by 9.2% and helped to maintain the continuing growth of the entire non-life segment", CAP annoucend in a press release.

STATISTICS: MONTENEGRO, 1Q2016: Property insurance decline pushed down the market turnover

Montenegro's insurers have reported a decreasing consolidated GWP amount, by 1.84% lower y-o-y, mostly pushed down by the significantly decrasing property insurance business.

CROATIA Osiguranje, 1Q2016: Slightly decreasing GWP, improving profitability indicators and M&A operations in course

CROATIA Osiguranje (CO) maintained its leading position in the Croatian insurance market, with a total share of 35.7% also continuind to lead in all three segments of the life, non-life and health insurance. GWP achieved in the Croatian market amounted to 904.5 million kuna (~EUR 121.5 million), which is 45 less y-o-y. Health insurance was the segment with the best dynamic in 1Q.

UNIQA Group Austria 1Q2016 GWP fell by 15.7% y-o-y, to EUR 1,718.7 million "due to proactive reduction in single premiums in life insurance / Significant rise in premiums in health insurance (+3.1%) and property and casualty insurance (+1.8%) ", as the insurer pointed out in a press release.

UNIQA has a new Chief Information Officer and Chief Digital Officer in Alexander BOCKELMANN, 42. In his newly created function at UNIQA, BOCKELMANN will report directly to Erik LEYERS, Chief Operation Officer and member of the Group's Management Board. Bockelmann and his team will advance digitalisation at UNIQA and establish the necessary digital platforms to enable UNIQA to meet the new customer expectations and deliver on what it promises its customers.

Agriculture Insurance

The whole civilization process started because men started cultivating. Foundation of society was formed as they started living at one place for carrying out agriculture activities, for survival. There are various theories of agriculture and how it started, however the conclusion is, agriculture gave birth to the formation of society as people started living together in primitive stage. In terms of profession, agriculture would be considered as oldest profession, or an employment sector where people are involved.

As the overall insurance penetration is not yet at the desired level, the motor lines are still the market drivers in Turkey. "As a country, as an industry, we have to increase the insurance penetration rate. The motor line has already grown, so our focus now is on other lines of business. Health is one of them. We believe in complementary health products because right now just 2 million people benefit from private health policies and we are 80 million in total."
