Global insurance brokerage, risk management and consulting services firm Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. announced it has purchased a majority stake in Turkish specialty broker Brokers' House (BH Sigorta ve Reasurans Brokerligi A.S.). Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

NN Group posted H1 net profit of EUR 1.41 billion

Talanx strengthens its market position in Latin America

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. to acquire WTW's Treaty Reinsurance brokerage operations

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. recently announced an agreement to acquire the treaty reinsurance brokerage operations of Willis Towers Watson plc for a total consideration that may reach USD 4 billion. The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals and expected to close during the fourth quarter of 2021.

ARMENIA: at the end of 1H, corporate insurance continues to dominate in the GWP portfolios of insurers (57%)

According to the 1H2021 results, corporate insurance continues to dominate in the GWP portfolios of Armenian insurers - 57% (AMD 15.1 billion/EUR 25.69 million*) vs the share of retail insurance at 43% (AMD 11.4 billion/EUR 19.40 million*), which is almost the same as a year earlier, ArmInfo reports.

The Eurasian reinsurance company to be created to support mutual and foreign trade of the EAEU member states

At the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council on August 19-20, it was decided to start practical work on the creation of the Eurasian Reinsurance Company (ERC). RUSSIA: NAAI: agroinsurance with state support for 7 months grew by 45% y-o-y

According to the National Association of Agriculture Insurers (NAAI), out of RUB 4.3 billion/EUR 49.43 million* of insurance premium for January-July 2021 under agroinsurance contracts, 70% (RUB 3.0 billion) are related to insurance contracts for crop risks. The segment grew by 45% y-o-y, as stated on the NAAI website.

STATISTICS: UZBEKISTAN, 1H2021: GWP growth exceeded 67% y-o-y (in local currency)

In the first half of 2021, the insurance sector of Uzbekistan grew by more than 67%, GWP reached UZS 1,697.91 billion (EUR 134.44 million), according to the data published by the Ministry of Finance of the Republic.
