Vienna Insurance Group (VIG) increased its gross written premiums by 11% to EUR 4.29 billion after the first quarter of 2024. This corresponds to an increase of 11% or EUR 426 million compared to the previous year’s figure of EUR 3.87 billion. With a solvency ratio of 262% as of 31 March 2024, the Group continues to be excellently capitalised.

Based on responses from more than 1,000 risk and HR professionals nationwide, the People Risk 2024 Report released by Mercer and Marsh, businesses of Marsh McLennan (MMC), revealed that ineffective leadership is viewed as the biggest people risk facing organizations today, followed by improper rewards decision making, and increasing health and benefit costs. Risk managers also identified a lack of cybersecurity knowledge and mismanagement of AI as key people threats in 2024.

Bulgarian insurance market reported January-December 2023 GWP worth BGN 4.38 billion (EUR 2.24 billion), up by 21.29% y-o-y, according to the official figures published on Financial Supervisory Commission website. Life insurers' GWP increased by 16% to BGN 725.50 million, while non-life insurers' GWP rose by 22.39% to BGN 3.66 billion.
