1 April 2025 — Marina MAGNAVAL
UNIQA in Poland ended 2024 with total GWP of PLN 5.5 billion (~EUR 1.28 billion), which is 18.9% more y-o-y. The insurer recorded a 20.7% increase in the property and 11.2% in the life insurance segment. The group's gross profit in Poland (according to the IFRS17) amounted to PLN 371.3 million, which is the highest result in history, the company said.

Record financial results on the Polish market are a strong growth driver for the entire UNIQA Group. Poland is the second largest market in the group, after Austria, and the largest in the Central and Eastern European region. UNIQA's solid financial results in Poland were confirmed by S&P Global, which awarded the company a high A rating at the end of 2024, with a stable outlook.

“Our achievements are the result of a well-thought-out strategy that we have been consistently implementing since the merger with Axa, i.e. since 2021. From the very beginning, we have focused on building a profitable business. This allows us to develop extremely dynamically today, because we are the fastest growing insurance company in Poland among the largest companies, while maintaining high profitability”, said Marcin Nedwidek, President of the Management Board of UNIQA in Poland.

The growth driver in 2024 was property insurance, especially MTPL and Motor Hull. Growth was also recorded across all main business lines - individual, corporate and housing products, as well as bancassurance.

Growth was observed in both retail and corporate segments, as well as in life insurance. “We are very strong in group life insurance, where we provide coverage to over 800,000 policyholders”, added Marcin Nedwidek.
