Total compensation and benefits paid by insurers under MTPL and Motor Hull in 2025 reached PLN 21 billion (~EUR 4.97 billion), which is 8.6% more y-o-y, even though the number of reported claims was only 1.9% higher than in 2024, according to data from the Information Center of the Insurance Guarantee Fund, Gazeta Ubezpieczeniowa (Insurance Gazette) wrote.

According to the Insurance Guarantee Fund (UFG), there were 30.93 million active MTPL policies at the end of 2025 (+4.4%). The number of active Motor Hull policies also increased by 5.5%, reaching 8.21 million units.

Last year, injured parties reported 1.044 million MTPL claims (+2.4%). Of this number, 997,700 were property damage claims, while 46,300 were personal injury claims. 855,300 claims were reported under comprehensive insurance – approximately 10,000 more than a year earlier.

Insurers paid out PLN 11.93 billion under MTPL claims, 8.2% more than in 2024. Of this total, PLN 10.25 billion was paid for property damage and PLN 1.68 billion - under personal injury claims. Total comprehensive insurance claims paid reached PLN 9.07 billion, a 9.1% increase compared to 2024.
