GWP of the Romanian insurer Allianz-Tiriac Asigurari, part of Germany's Allianz Group, in 2025 increased by 5.5% y-o-y, reaching nearly RON 4 billion (EUR 784.9 million), SeeNews reports.

Last year Allianz-Tiriac Asigurari, which proudly represents in Romania the world’s most valuable insurance brand, paid nearly RON 1.7 billion to insured clients and third-party claimants in compensation for covered events, up by 12.7% y-o-y, the insurer said.

Total gross claims expenses (gross claims paid and changes in gross reserves for reported and unreported claims) amounted to nearly RON 2.8 billion in 2025, up by 10.9% y-o-y.

Allianz-Tiriac Asigurari achieved a net profit of more than RON 550 million last year, combined for its insurance and pension entities, with nearly 90% generated by the insurance business.

The insurer's 2025 results were mainly driven by non-motor general insurance and motor insurance, with a 6.4% increase in GWP on both segments, as well as by traditional life insurance, which saw a 13.7% growth in premiums. In addition, Allianz-Tiriac Asigurari’s property insurance portfolio grew by 8% to nearly RON 396 million.

"2025 was an intense year, with two very different semesters. We had a difficult start, in a volatile environment, but managed to accelerate in the second part of the year and once again close with record results", Allianz-Tiriac Asigurari CEO Virgil Soncutean said. "The start of this year is promising, with double-digit growth supported by all channels and business lines", the CEO added.
