SERBIA: a Protocol on Cooperation to improve and develop insurance business signed between Serbia and the Republic Srpska

The Association of Serbian Insurers and the Association of Insurance Companies of the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic Srpska signed a Protocol on Cooperation, which provides for organization of educational meetings to improve and develop insurance business, the Serbian Association said.

The protocol was signed at a meeting held at the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic Srpska, which was attended by the Assistant Minister of Finance of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Ognjen Popovic, while the Association of Serbian Insurers was represented by the Secretary General Dusko Jovanovic.

Popovic emphasized that the goal of the Protocol is to strengthen the connection between the insurance market of Serbia and the Republic Srpska, which will contribute to the strengthening of the entire economy. He also stated that intensive cooperation is taking place between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Srpska in various fields, and by signing this Protocol, the countries are also improving cooperation between the insurance markets.

Dusko Jovanovic, stressed that insurance in Serbia has been growing steadily over the last 10 years and noted that the Association has been making big efforts to change the related legislation and adjust it to the European legislative framework. He also underlined excellent relations that the Association of Serbian Insurers has with the state bodies of the Republic of Serbia, as well as good relations between insurers within the Association.
