For over a month, member insurance companies of the SLASPO (Slovak Insurance Association) have been registering claims caused by September's extreme rainfall and subsequent floods in Slovakia, SLASPO said.

A week after the floods, 4,400 insurance claims were reported, but their number has almost reached 11,000. The highest estimated damage exceeds EUR 300,000.

Compared to the first week after the floods, the amount of reported damages has more than doubled and exceeded EUR 16.7 million, while total damage estimates have settled at approximately EUR 21 million, the Association added.
