STATISTICS:  ARMENIA, FY2022: GWP rose by almost 24%, while paid claims - by only 3%
The insurance sector of Armenia ended 2022 with an increase of almost 24% (in AMD). Total volume reached AMD 61.08 billion (EUR 145.42 million). It is worth noting that paid claims increased very slightly in local currency, by only 3%, to AMD 29.42 billion, according to the data, provided by ArmInfo.

The non-life segment continued to show impressive growth, up more than 50% y-o-y. Motor insurance, which accounts for almost half of the market's premium portfolio, grew by about 12%. It is also worth noting the rapid growth in general liability insurance, travel insurance, cargo, and health insurance.

Paid claims for some classes of insurance recorded a strong growth y-o-y, as, for example, in general liability insurance, where they jumped by 332%. At the same time, in property insurance and motor insurance paid claims, on the contrary, fell compared to 2021.

Of the six insurance companies, operating on the market, ROSGOSSTRAKH (AMD 15.93 billion) retained its leadership, INGO Armenia holds the second place, yet with a very small margin from the market leader (AMD 15.56 billion), the third place was retained by NAIRI Insurance, and RESO moved down to last place, ending the year in negative area, while all other insurers saw good growth.
