At the end of March 2025, the BiH insurance market totaled EUR 140.8 million (BAM 275.4 million), up by 6.14% y-o-y, as the local insurance agency – AZOBIH informed. At the same time, the value of claims paid by insurers expanded by 10.3% y-o-y to EUR 60.11 million.
Non-life insurance premiums increased by 7% year-on-year to EUR 114.77 million (BAM 224.47 million), while premiums in the life insurance segment went up 2.13% to EUR 26 million (BAM 50.89 million). From the non-life subclasses, EUR 14.7 million corresponded to the property lines and EUR 73.08 million to motor insurance (MoD and MTPL, summed), both market segments recording a slightly negative trend.
The value of GWP of the insurers operating in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina increased by 7.27% to EUR 100 million (71% of total GWP), while the Republika Srpska based insurers generated EUR 40.76 million, up by 3.45% y-o-y.
In GWP terms, the top three largest insurers in the country were FBiH based insurers ASA Central osiguranje osiguranje (12.1% market share), Adriatic osiguranje (10.43%) and Euroherc osiguranje d.d. (8.4%).
