Insurers of North Macedonia have written gross premiums worth EUR 76.24 million in the quarter of 2026, which is 4.4% less y-o-y, while paid claims increased by ~1%, to EUR 26.02 million.

The market portfolio structure recorded a slight change in the balance between life and non-life insurance segments weights in the portfolio. While non-life insurance maintained a dominant position, its share in the market portfolio decreased by about 3 percentage points. Another notable change was recorded for the motor insurance classes which each gained more traction in the market portfolio. Overall, motor insurance gained about 5 pp to their share in the market portfolio.

Premiums written for life insurance increased by 12.75%, to EUR 13.83 million. After the spectacular growth recorded in Q1 2025, property insurance segment saw GWP for fire insurance more than halving y-o-y, to EUR 5.05 million. Motor insurance GWP rose by 9.65%, to EUR 29.93 million.
