The insurance market of Serbia ended the first three quarters of 2024 with aggregate GWP worth RSD 132.57 billion (~EUR 1.13 billion, up by 14.67% y-o-y), of which non-life insurance - RSD 109.13 billion (+15.86%), while the life insurance segment totaled RSD 23.44 billion, up by 9.44% y-o-y.
The value of paid claims expanded by 13.93% y-o-y to RSD 59.78 billion (~EUR 510.6 million), of which RSD 15 billion - life indemnities (up by 3.5%) and RSD 44.78 billion (+17.9% y-o-y) related to non-life classes.
The overall structure of the market portfolio remained largely unchanged vs. the same period of 2023.
In terms of premiums, at the end of September 2024, the largest insurance company in the country was DUNAV (GWP worth RSD 34.39 billion, market share of 25.94%), followed by GENERALI osiguranje with 18.25% market share, while DDOR was third with 11.23%.
A total of 16 insurance companies operated in the country at the end of September 2024.
