STATISTICS:  SERBIA FY2021: the market has exceeded the EUR 1 billion threshold for the first time
The Serbian insurance market ended 2021 with aggregate GWP worth RSD 119.40 billion (EUR 1.02 billion), up by 8.64% y-o-y, according to the NBS's (National Bank of Serbia) year-end figures.

Non-life insurance made up 77.30% of the total GWP (RSD 92.30 billion, up by 10.20% y-o-y) - of which RSD 48.95 billion - related to motor classes and RSD 23.73 billion - property policies, while the share of life insurance premiums was 22.70% (RSD 27.10 billion, up by 3.62% y-o-y).

In terms of paid claims, the aggregate value was RSD 53.72 billion (~EUR 457 million), of which the two motor subclasses (MTPL and Motor hull, summed) generated almost 40% of total.

At the end of 2021, Serbia's Top 3 largest insurers as GWP were DUNAV Osiguranje (26.45% market share), GENERALI Osiguranje (19.59%) and DDOR (11.68%).
