In 9M2025, Uzbekistan's insurance sector grew by 39.63% year-on-year to reach UZS 9.79 trillion (EUR 692.58 million), according to data published by the National Agency for Prospective Projects of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Life insurance continued its triple-digit growth, reaching UZS 563.68 billion, accounting for 5.76% of the market portfolio. Non-life insurance continues to dominate the market, accounting for 94.24%. It's worth noting that voluntary non-life insurance holds the largest share on the market - over 88%.
In the non-life insurance segment, growth was observed across all classes except for Motor Hull, illnesses and property damage insurance. At that Motor Hull insurance recorded the largest decline in premiums overall (-50.37%).
Insurers' paid claims increased moderately, by 17.04% in local currency, reaching UZS 1.91 trillion (EUR 135.23 million). Almost all insurance classes saw increases in claims, except for voluntary life insurance, property damage insurance, and GTPL.
In terms of GWP, Apex Insurance remains the leader in non-life insurance among 29 insurers with UZS 2.81 trillion, O‘ZBEKINVEST (UZS 1.20 trillion) holds second place, and GROSS SUG'URTA (UZS 626.05 billion) rounds out the top three. In life insurance, Apex Life Insurance continues to lead among 6 insurers with a share of 68.25%.
