The regional insurance market of the ex-USSR* ended 2023 in euros almost unchanged, the total GWP decreased by only 0.21% to EUR 29.11 billion as xprimm statistics show.

The share of Russia as the largest market in the region decreased slightly - from 82% to 79%, total collected premiums fell by 4% and amounted to EUR 23.03 billion. At the same time, the most rapid growth was demonstrated by Kyrgyzstan (+30.51%), but its share in the region is only 0.11%, which makes it the smallest market among the countries in the region.

Paid claims at the regional level decreased by 7.58%, to EUR 12.67 billion. The most impressive increase in paid claims was also recorded in Kyrgyzstan, where they jumped by 155%. On the other hand, the largest drop was observed in Uzbekistan (-32%).
