STATISTICS:  ex-USSR, FY2024: all markets under review record double-digit growth in premiums and paid claims

The regional insurance market of the former Soviet Union* countries grew by 45.68% in euros in 2024, amounting to EUR 42.41 billion, according to xprimm statistics.

All markets under review in the region recorded growth (in euros), and it was double-digit. Kyrgyzstan leads in terms of GWP growth (+86.35%), followed by Russia. Russia's share in the regional volume almost reached 83%.

Paid claims at the regional level increased by almost 80%, to EUR 22.80 billion. In terms of paid claims growth, Russia leads (+92.35%), while in other markets, the growth does not exceed 36%. The least y-o-y growth in paid claims was observed in Uzbekistan.

It is worth noting, however, that paid claims growth, as well as in case with GWP, in all the markets under review was double-digit at the end of last year.

*no data for Turkmenistan and Tajikistan, also Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania are not included in the regional analysis
