GWP of the 18 active Croatian insurers increased by 7.54% y-o-y, to HRK 8.15 billion (EUR 1.10 billion) in 3Q 2019, the Croatian Insurance Bureau quarterly figures showed. The value of paid claims totaled HRK 4.25 billion, up by 6.02% compared to the prior year's level.

Non-life GWP rose by 11.60% y-o-y, to HRK 5.79 billion - all subclasses reporting positive rates, whereas the life insurance LoB totaled the remaining HRK 2.36 billion, down by 1.28% y-o-y due the 13.39% decrease (more than HRK 50 million) registered by the UL products.

CROATIA Osiguranje was the largest insurance company in the country, accounting for 27.40% of total GWP. ALLIANZ Zagreb followed with 13.15%, while non-life insurer EUROHERC Osiguranje ranked 3^rd with 11.31%.
