Estonian insurers posted 1H2025 aggregate GWP worth EUR 342.45 million, slightly lower y-o-y, by 0.68%, according to the market figures published by the Estonian National Statistics Board. Total paid claims by local insurers also decreased y-o-y, to ~EUR 204.36 million (-1.6%).
Total GWP reported on non-life insurance classes amounted to EUR 299.4 million (-1.14% y-o-y), of which EUR 87.31 million – MoD, EUR 80.77 million – property insurance, and EUR 63.36 million – Motor TPL. At the same time, the life insurance segment was up by just 2.6% y-o-y to EUR 43.05 million (~12.57% of total GWP).
The largest life insurer in the country in terms of GWP remained SWEDBANK Life Insurance SE (44.75% market share), while Swedbank P&C Insurance AS (18.3%) lead the non-life insurance segment.
