By the end of March 2017, the Kosovo insurance market totaled EUR 18.8 million - 1.5% more y-o-y, as the market figures published by the Central Bank of Kosovo - CBK indicate.

The share of voluntary classes in total GWP was of 43% vs. 57% - mandatory policies - of which the Domestic Motor TPL policies accounted for 52%, while the Border policies generated about 5%.

During the reported period, claims paid by insurers totaled EUR 11.2 million, up by almost 37%.

During Q1 2017, Kosovo insurers issued a total of 181.9 thousand policies - of which only 83.8 thousand were Domestic Motor TPL policies, 38.1 thousand - Border policies and 60 thousand - other voluntary classes.
