Lithuanian insurers posted GWP of EUR 501 million in 1H 2021, 6.5% more y-o-y, according to the half-year figures published on the Central Bank's website.

The life insurance segment expanded by 7.1% y-o-y to EUR 151 million due the 11.4% increase posted by the index-linked and unit-linked products, while in case of non-life segment, Lithuanian insurers GWP expanded 6.3% y-o-y to EUR 350 million.

SWEDBANK Life Insurance (22.9% market share), COMPENSA Life (20.4%) and AVIVA Lietuva (18.8%) were the top 3 life insurers in the country as GWP. Of 13 non-life insurers active in the country, the largest three as GWP were LIETUVOS draudimas (EUR 102 million), BTA Insurance Company (EUR 55.7 million) and ERGO (EUR 48 million).
