GWP by the Slovak insurers amounted, according to data provided by the SLASPO - Slovak Insurance Association, to EUR 3.2 billion in 2025, which is by 7.44% more y-o-y, while the market portfolio structure remained mostly unchanged.
With GWP of EUR 1.16 billion (up by 3.07% y-o-y), life insurance accounts for 36.23% of the total GWP amount. Growth on the non-life side was of 10.09% y-o-y, to GWP of EUR 2.04 billion. The highest contribution to the market growth came from the MTPL insurance line.
The largest life insurers were: KOOPERATIVA poisťovňa Vienna Insurance Group (28.73% market share), Allianz - Slovenská poisťovňa (18.78%) and Generali Poisťovňa (13.17%).
On the non-life insurance segment, the Top 3 insurers were: Allianz - Slovenská poisťovňa (27.46%), KOOPERATIVA poisťovňa Vienna Insurance Group (22.65%) and Generali Poisťovňa (14.12%).
Since 2021, Generali Poisťovňa operates in Slovakia as a branch of an insurance company from another Member State, namely Generali Ceska pojistovna headquartered in Czechia.
