STATISTICS: SLOVENIA, 1Q2020: Life & health generated two thirds of total claims paid by insurers
Slovenian insurance market totaled EUR 714 million at the end of March 2020, 6.2% more y-o-y, according to the Slovenian Insurance Association's Q1 report.

Life insurance has increased by 5.58% y-o-y to EUR 198 million, while the non-life segment reported a positive growth rate of 6.44% y-o-y, reaching EUR 517 million.

In terms of paid claims, the aggregate value was ~EUR 441 million, of which about EUR 158 million - life indemnities, EUR 130 million - payments related to health insurance contracts, and EUR 97 million - motor classes payments (MTPL and MoD, summed up), the remaining EUR 56 million being related to other non-life insurance claims.

At the end of March 2020, in terms of GWP, Slovenia's largest insurer was Zavarovalnica TRIGLAV with a 26.82% market share - the equivalent of ~EUR 191.65 million in GWP followed by Zavarovalnica SAVA (19.11% market share) and GENERALI zavarovalnica (15.65%)- a company which increased its market share by more than 10% after the merger with ADRIATIC Slovenica.
