STATISTICS: SLOVENIA, 3Q2018: Top 5 insurers account together for more than three quarters of the market GWP
Slovenian insurers reported for 3Q2018 GWP worth EUR 1.78 billion, by 6.6% up y-o-y. Paid claims have increased by 4.8%, to EUR 1.15 billion. Life insurance, in particular the UL products line, have seen the highest growth rates.

However, at the end of September, the market portfolio's structure was almost unchanged as compared with the previous year, with life insurance accounting for almost 30% of the GWP.

On the non-life insurance side, the motor insurance lines - especially the Motor Hull class -, have seen the highest GWP growth rates, while the fire insurance line saw the most substantial relative increase in the paid claims chapter.

Triglav, the parent company of the Triglav Group remained the absolute market leader, with a 27.5% market share (slightly reduced y-o-y, from 28.4% in 3Q2017). Zavarovalnica Sava, the main entity in the Sava Re Group, ranked second (17.34% market share, unchanged), followed by Adriatic Slovenica, recently bought by the Italian group Generali, accounting for almost 13% of the market GWP. The largest two health insurers are completing the Top 5: Vzajemna and Triglav. Overall, Top 5 insurers are controlling more than three quarters of the Slovene GWP production (76.6%).
