VIG Re, the reinsurance company of Vienna Insurance Group, announces  today that Sven Trautner will join the company as its Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) and Head of Corporate Development effective from 1 October 2023.

In this role, Sven will coordinate VIG Re’s corporate strategy, its implementation and execution of strategic initiatives in order to foster the financial growth, competitiveness, and market positioning of the company. He will be also responsible for the corporate project management. Sven Trautner will report  to Tobias Sonndorfer, Member of the Board of Directors. Sven joins VIG Re from Munich Re, where he served as Senior Innovation Manager responsible for the Continental European Business Building practice. Prior that he worked for over ten years at BayernLB bank, where he held various managerial positions in financial controlling, strategy, and project management business areas – both in Munich and New York City.

Who is Sven Trautner

Sven Trautner is a  financial and reinsurance expert with a strong focus on innovation, strategy, finance, and project management. Before joining VIG Re, he worked as Senior Innovation Manager at Munich Re, responsible for the Continental European Business Building practice. Prior that he worked for over ten years at BayernLB bank, where he held various managerial positions in financial controlling, strategy, and project management business areas – both in Munich and New York City. Sven holds a master’s degree in Finance and Accounting from the FOM University of Applied Sciences for Economics and Management in Essen, and a double bachelor of arts degree. Further he is a PMI Agile Certified Practitioner and Green Belt certified in Lean Six Sigma principles. Sven is married and has one son.
