The Azerbaijan Insurers Association (ASA) has appointed a new Executive Director, following a decision taken at the General Meeting of Founders dedicated to reviewing the organization’s 2025 results.

According to ASA, the mandate of the previous Executive Director, Elmar Mirsalayev, has come to an end, prompting a vote on the leadership position. As a result, Abas Miskarli has been elected as the new Executive Director of the association.

Born in 1989 in Baku, Miskarli holds a bachelor’s degree from the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University and a master’s degree from Western University. He further pursued professional studies in the UK, obtaining the Dip CII qualification from the Chartered Insurance Institute in 2016, and also earned a master’s degree in finance from the University of Cambridge.

With nearly two decades of experience in the insurance sector, Miskarli has held various senior management roles across several insurance companies.
