VIG Re, the reinsurance company of Vienna Insurance Group, announced the appointment of Tobias Sonndorfer as the new member of the Board of Directors, with effect from 1^st January 2023, expanding the number of board members from current three to four.

Tobias Sonndorfer, who has broad experience in financial services and the reinsurance industry, will take over responsibilities for reinsurance business assumed from VIG group business, capital management and retrocession and the further digitalisation of the Company.

Sonndorfer (41) is a seasoned reinsurance expert with over 16 years of experience in financial services and the reinsurance industry. Prior joining VIG Re, he worked at Munich Re, lastly as a Client Management Executive, being responsible for CEE, SEE, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, and Luxemburg. During the last 10 years he held several senior managerial positions within Munich Re, both in traditional and non-traditional reinsurance solutions with strong international focus. Tobias Sonndorfer graduated from the OTH Regensburg in Germany and is a certified CFA charterholder. He is married with two children.
