In January-September 2021, the company collected UAH 1.49 billion (EUR 48.34 million*) in premiums, which is the maximum for the Ukrainian life insurance market. At the same time, MetLife paid claims reached UAH 221.6 million, which is also the highest result among national life insurers. In addition, the company is the leader in terms of the number of clients throughout Ukraine.
MetLife ranks first among all 17 life insurers by the key indicators of financial reliability. MetLife's assets as of September 30, 2021, exceeded UAH 4.51 billion (+21% y-o-y), insurance reserves amounted to UAH 3.96 billion (+24%).
"According to the NBU (National Bank), for 9 months of 2021, the Ukrainian life insurance market increased by 17%. At the same time, growth of MetLife exceeded 36%. Our result confirms that life insurance in Ukraine has a great future, and the entire industry can develop more actively", commented Inna BELYANSKAYA, Head of the Board of MetLife in Ukraine.
According to the NBU statistics, GWP of the Ukrainian life insurance companies in January-September 2021 increased to UAH 4.2 billion, and total paid claims increased to UAH 583 million. At the same time, the share of the Ukrainian life insurance market, occupied by MetLife, exceeded 35% in premiums and 38% in paid claims.
MetLife started its activity in 2003. According to the Insurance TOP, over the past six years, MetLife has been the leader in the Ukrainian life insurance market in terms of GWP and paid claims, the number of insured persons, assets and reserves.
