Health insurance will be fully introduced throughout Uzbekistan by the end of 2026, according to the Presidential Decree.

By the end of 2023, the Ministry of Health has been instructed to ensure the development of the National Strategy “Public Health – 2030” with involvement of international organizations and foreign consulting companies based on advanced foreign experience, reports.

From January 1, 2024, the State Health Insurance Fund will be included in the structure of the Ministry of Health, while its status as an independent legal entity will be maintained, as well as the existing sources and procedure for financing its activities. From January 1, 2027, the Fund will be separated from the Ministry of Health and will function as an independent body.

The Fund's supervisory board will have an opportunity to independently determine providers (both public and private) who will be involved in health services within the framework of the guaranteed volume of medical care.
