STATISTICS: UKRAINE, 1Q2025: insurers' activities remained stable, and the sector was profitable
The Ukrainian insurance market grew by 32.87% to UAH 15.40 billion (EUR 344.33 million) in 1Q2025, including UAH 1.40 billion collected in life insurance and UAH 14.00 billion in non-life insurance, according to data published by the National Bank (NBU).
UKRAINE: VUSO triples its profit in 1Q2025
VUSO, one of the top 5 non-life insurers in Ukraine, tripled its profit in 1Q2025 y-o-y. At the end of the first quarter, VUSO's net profit amounted to UAH 40.99 million (~EUR 0.92 million), Forinsurer writes.
UKRAINE: The MTPL segment grew by almost 115% in the first quarter, while GWP under Green Card policies rose by 2.83%
In the first quarter of 2025, more than 1.5 million MTPL contracts were concluded in Ukraine, which is 8.83% less y-o-y. GWP in the segment exceeded UAH 4.5 billion (~EUR 0.10 billion), which means an increase of 114.81%. The average premium increased by 135.61%, Forinsurer reports.

UKRAINE: In 1Q over half of the MTIBU's regulatory payments were for liabilities of the former Bureau members
The Motor (Transport) Insurance Bureau of Ukraine (MTIBU) made 5,242 regulatory payments from the Victims' Protection Fund in the first quarter of 2025 for a total of UAH 290.3 million (~EUR 6.53 million). Compared to the same period in 2024, the number of payments increased by 162%, and the amount - by 155%, Forinsurer reports.

According to Forinsurer, the number of regulatory payments increased by 107% y-o-y, and the total amount of payments increased by 108%.
