In the first half of 2020, the insurance sector of Georgia grew by 9.14%, to ~EUR 109.4 million. At the same time, the paid claims during the period dropped sharply - by more than 24% y-o-y, according to the data published by the insurance supervision authority. In a period marked by the global pandemic crisis, it is worth noting that the market growth was supported by health insurance, which has generated over 45% of the market premiums and saw an increase of almost 18% y-o-y.
