STATISTICS: Slovenian insurers’ business rise by almost 10% y-o-y in 3Q2023 to EUR 2.35 billion

The business of Slovenian insurers rose 9.89% on the year in the first nine months of 2023, reaching EUR 2.35 billion in terms of GWP, according to the end-September 2023 market data of the Slovenian Insurance Association.

Non-life premiums increased by 11.36% on the year to EUR 1.74 billion from EUR 1.56 billion at end-September 2022, while life GWP was up by 5.92% year-on-year to EUR 609.68 million in the review period.

At the same time, the value of claims paid by insurers increased by 16.99% y-o-y to EUR 1.55 billion, out of which EUR 388.08 million (+0.26% y-o-y) – life indemnities and EUR 1.17 billion– non-life payments (up by 23.84% y-o-y).

The figures published by the local insurance association include the data from 18 active insurers.

Slovenia's largest insurers in terms of GWP were Zavarovalnica TRIGLAV with a 29.09% market share (EUR 683.68 million), followed by Zavarovalnica Sava (17.85% market share, EUR 419.60 million) and GENERALI zavarovalnica (16.83% market share, EUR 395.56 million).
